In a New York Times piece this new technologies is revealed well not really because if you have seen Tom Cruise in Minority Report with his special Michael Jackson glove control the futuristic computer of the future than this will look very familiar.
Its not the first time science fiction has become science fact. but in this case they used a working model of this technology for the movie
this new way of thinking when it comes to computers and how we interface with them might be the next big evolution since the mouse.
In this conception of computing, the input and the output occupy the same space — unlike a conventional computer, in which the mouse and computer keyboard are separate from the screen, where the changes appear. Even the Nintendo Wii game console, which responds to gesture and motions, often projects that motion onto an on-screen figure.
